When people think of biblical femininity, many may imagine a woman who embodies qualities such as kindness, compassion, humility, and strength. They may envision someone who follows the teachings of the Bible and strives to live a life of faith and righteousness. While some may view biblical femininity as conforming to traditional gender roles, others see it as a source of empowerment and freedom for women.
What is Biblical Feminity
It’s important to recognize that biblical femininity is not about conforming to a specific set of expectations or roles; rather, it’s about embracing one’s unique identity and purpose as a woman created in the image of God. In essence, biblical femininity encourages women to cultivate their inner beauty and strength while also demonstrating love, grace, and wisdom in all aspects of their lives.
Gentleness as a godly woman
Biblical feminity is gentleness in action. It is important to be gentle ( have tender care) towards other women. You can do this by first actively listening to concerns without judgment. Be fully present and validate others feelings. Empathize with other women as “humans” first and their situational issues second. This means seeing the person’s soul ( how their feelings shape their thoughts and will). By embodying gentleness, we can create a nurturing and supportive environment where everyone feels valued and respected.
Here are some ways to cultivate gentleness as a feminine christian woman:
- Listen Actively: Make a conscious effort to listen to others without judgment. This means being fully present in conversations and validating their feelings and experiences.
- Offer Support and Encouragement: Be a source of strength and encouragement. Recognize their struggles and celebrate their victories, no matter how small.
- Be Authentic: Share your own experiences and vulnerabilities. Authenticity fosters trust and helps build deeper, more meaningful connections.
- Practice Patience: Building relationships takes time. Allow relationships to develop naturally, and be patient with both yourself and others.

Biblical Feminity is Compassion for others
Jesus himself was and still is the ultimate example of a mother’s deep compassion for her children. He saw the needs of so many people and satisfied those needs with his tender love and grace. We witness this same kind of suffering in mothers when they witness their child in pain and seek to alleviate it. God shows us this same love and comfort through His mercy. With the grace of Christ working within us, we can share our stories of overcoming struggles, offer unwavering support, words of encouragement, and be open about our own vulnerabilities.
We can have compassion by making a conscious decision to “suffer with the other person.” This does not mean that we have to physically endure the same hardships or challenges as someone else, but rather it involves empathizing with their feelings and showing genuine concern for their well-being. By choosing to put ourselves in someone else’s shoes and truly understand their emotions, we are able to offer support and comfort in a more meaningful way.
Compassion allows us to connect on a deeper level with others, fostering stronger relationships and creating a sense of unity with others. It requires an intentional effort to step outside of our own perspective and prioritize the needs of others, demonstrating kindness and empathy in how we live our lives.
Self-nurture in biblical femininity
I’ve discovered that self-care is like the golden rule of treating yourself with the same kindness and compassion you give to others. Here are a few signs that you could use some self-care.
- You struggle to deal with challenges in life (new life transitions)
- You have experienced some trauma or mother wound in the past
- You may not know how to self-regulate or self-soothe
- You struggle with rejection or have a rejection mentality
Self-nurturing practice is that reset button that helps us to slow down and to be aware of what is happening around us in our environment and how we react to our own emotions.
Recognize and honor your own needs and limitations.
- Seek Guidance: Ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom and for direction when making decisions and to understand your needs and desires.
- Set Boundaries: Establish boundaries to protect your mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. This might include managing your time and energy carefully.
- Engage in Spiritual Practices: Explore activities that nurture your spirit, such as meditation, journaling, or spending time in nature. Allow these practices to refresh and renew you.

When a godly woman speaks, she should always make sure her words are grounded in what God says about her. That means not speaking out of her own opinions or emotions, but rather sharing wisdom and guidance that aligns with biblical principles. It’s important for a godly woman to seek God’s will and direction before speaking, ensuring that her words are encouraging, uplifting, and rooted in truth. By allowing the Holy Spirit to guide her speech, she can effectively minister to others and reflect Christ’s love in all interactions. A godly woman’s words have the power to bring comfort, healing, and inspiration when they are spoken in alignment with God’s truth and grace.
This is how you can nurture your words with care:
- Speak words that produce life
- Say what you truly mean to say and NOT what people expect of you
- Speak words that align with the word of God
- Get in community with people that will encourage and speak over you in love
- Share your testimony with people that will value what you have to say ( Matthew 7:6)
Biblical Feminity- Beauty in God’s Presence
Your presence releases a fragrance so pleasing over and over poured out. For your lovely name is Flowing Oil. No wonder the brides-to-be adore you.Song of Songs 1:3
But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere. or we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. 16 To the one we are an aroma that brings death; to the other, an aroma that brings life. And who is equal to such a task?2 Corinthians 2:14-16
These two verses have something in common- the fragrance of God is lingering and is representative of God’s beauty in a woman’s life. As she gives up her life to Christ, she will be yielded to God’s glory which will shine the light of God’s presence onto others. People will automatically be inspired by her words, prayer life, worship, and devotion to God. Additionally, people can see the beauty of her strength and adoration to her children.
In essence a woman that embodies God’s beauty, owns who she is and will not shrink the presence of God for the benefit of others. Instead she will be honored to release God’s sweet perfume to the world!
